Assignments are currently being sent through AO3 and should show up shortly in your email as well as in “Assignments” on your AO3 dash (left-hand menu). If you don’t see it in either place in the next few hours, let us know and we’ll resend it.

Assignments are due on November 4th. This date is listed correctly on AO3, DW, tumblr, and the countdown clock.
Unfortunately, the letter that went out with assignments erroneously says November 5th for some or all of you. Super sorry for any confusion that may cause! (I foolishly didn’t check that the edits to the letter had saved before I hit the “send assignments” button. orz)

Assignments were generated automatically by AO3 (and checked manually by two of us) based on these criteria:
- the characters requested/offered
- the type of fill requested/offered
In many cases, you only match on one request — and one is all you need to fill.
Hopefully the system did a good job and you like what you got! But if not, read on.
If the system made a mistake with characters or type of fill, please let us know immediately (comments are screened) and we’ll get it sorted.

If the system matched you fairly but you don’t like the assignment you got, please remember that you do not need to fill a specific prompt.
You only need to do a fill of the type requested, using the characters requested. All other details are optional, including relationships and nsfw content/rating.
Some people put their general likes/dislikes in their “Dear Creator” letter – so if your recipient included a link, be sure to check that out.
In the spirit of Makoto swimming in the ocean in Season 1, it would be great if you could do your best. But if you simply cannot, please default through AO3 as soon as possible, so we can give the pinch hitter who picks it up as much time as possible.
In any case please note that if you drop out and the person drawing/writing for you also drops, your requests will not go to the pinch hitter list.
