  • Details: General Gist: AU where Makoto, Sousuke, Rin, Haru and Kisumi all end up in the same college / university (or different universities in the same location) and decide to save up on costs by renting a house together. Not looking for a particular plot. Suggestions/Possible Scenarios:
    • Kisumi, Rin and Sousuke dealing with Makoto and Haru's freaky telepathy thing.
    • Makoto becoming friends with the local fire department after setting the kitchen on fire one too many times.
    • Housemates dealing with loud sex noises.
    • Kisumi accidentally feeding Rin and Haru roofie brownies and Sousuke and Makoto dealing with the disastrous aftermath.
    • Rin tutoring the others in English.
    • Makoto majors in psychology and subconsciously uses his lessons on his unsuspecting housemates.

  • Notes: I don't mind gen for this but if you'd like to write/draw a ship, any of the three pairings specified will do. Bonus points for the other peeps (Nagisa, Rei, Gou, Nitori, Momo and Sei) occasionally dropping by for additional mayhem. If you want to include other ships, please feel free! As a preference though, non-Makoto ships I also like are SouGou, HaruAki, and RinRei :)

  • Details: AU where Makoto transfers to Sousuke's Tokyo swimming school in his first year of high school, and becomes friends with Sousuke, eventually playing a part in making sure Sousuke doesn't push himself too hard with his training. This changes several things: Sousuke doesn't break his shoulder, and Makoto undergoes the kind of rigid training that swimmers aiming to compete internationally do, which eventually factors in his decision about the future. Makoto goes back to Iwatobi for his second year and he and Sousuke keep in touch. Sousuke does get scouted in his second year, and enrolls in Samezuka to swim with Rin on his third year. They (Makoto and Sousuke) face off again in the third year relay. Makoto and Haru remain best friends, and Sousuke's dream is still to swim beside Rin on the big stage. Basically nothing changes in Free! except for that one temporary transfer.
  • Notes: Can be gen if you want, but if you're writing this in a shippy context, I'd like lots of H/C, hugs and shoulder kisses. Smut is optional. If you want to continue writing until their future timeline, Makoto doesn't necessarily have to go pro, but he does keep competing at least on a collegiate level. Sousuke, however, MUST go pro.

Haru soaked him, believing that Makoto deserved the best thing he could offer. And what was better than water? Unfortunately, being soaked several times in the cool weather of November leaves Makoto feeling ill. Haru feels apologetic, and snuggles him all that night. They have a quiet, cozy birthday night together.
    2. For a more broad option, I just love Makoto and Haru's relationship in general. I love that it is so comfortable and loving. If you could write something that captures that love and devotion, how they spoil each other and completely trust each other, that would be awesome. This could be done as a simple canon-possible situation, together in Tokyo situation, or a sweet AU situation. Have fun with fluff and light plot, just as long as Makoto and Haru are happy together in the end.

    2. Makoto (of whatever age) is assigned to interview people who inspire him (his "heroes"). Makoto interviews his parents, but doesn't feel right without including his other hero. Somehow, he has to gain the courage to interview Haru too. (Makoto & family, Makoto/Haruka or Makoto & Haruka)

In either option, I would like for Rin to take Makoto to meet his host parents and introduces him as his boyfriend. (No homophobia and they're accepting) What else they do in Australia is up to the filler.
    1. Option 1 - Canon compliant where Rin went to train in Australia and Makoto went to Tokyo for university while they are still dating. Makoto spends his break visiting Rin. Some angst over them being in a long distance relationship would be good but has fluff.
    2. Option 2 - Canon divergence where Rin stayed in Japan to swim instead and they take a vacation trip to Australia. Lots of fluff.
